1 dead, 2 injured after ‘random’ shooting in Oxford on Christmas Eve
Oxford, Michigan (FOX 2) –A random shooting in Oxford on Christmas Eve left one person dead and two others wounded.
The shooting took place on Ray Road between Lapeer and N. Oxford Roads at 6:30 p.m.
“At this time, it seems that the horrific events of last night were entirely arbitrary, with the suspect going on a violent rampage at several different spots as he was simply traveling through the neighborhood. We plan to pursue all charges against him because he is a convicted felon with a history of several weapons violations. In a news statement posted on social media, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office stated, “He is being held in our jail pending formal charges.”
Shortly after the shooting, a gun was found, and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office stated that one person had been taken into custody.
Police acknowledged that one individual had been taken into custody and that three others had been hurt, but they did not provide an update on their health.
