11-Year-Old Arrested for Threatening Mass Shooting at Pinellas County School
An 11-year-old student has been arrested for allegedly threatening a mass shooting at Lakeside Christian School in Pinellas County. According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the child sent a text message on August 15 threatening violence, which was reported on Tuesday morning. The message read, “ONG I MIGHT SHOOT UP DA SCHOOL, JS WATCH, NOVEMBER 4.”
Deputies charged the student with making written threats to kill or conduct a mass shooting. The child has been taken to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center.

This arrest is part of a troubling trend in the Tampa Bay area, where schools have experienced an increase in threats and incidents involving weapons on campuses. The sheriff’s office is urging anyone with information about potential threats to contact them at 727-582-6200.
