Heartbreaking Loss! 4-year-old Victim Dies After San Antonio Shooting Rampage
A 4-year-old girl, one of five relatives shot by unidentified assailants who fired at least 30 rounds into their San Antonio home, died on Thursday, according to officials.
The incident, seen by neighbor video cameras, occurred about a half-hour before sunset Wednesday night inside a San Antonio townhome where the girl resided with her siblings, ages 7 and 8, as well as the children’s parents, according to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar.
According to Salazar, first responders transferred all five patients in critical condition to San Antonio Military Medical Centre.
The 4-year-old girl, whose name has not yet been disclosed, died at the hospital, according to the sheriff, who provided video footage of the shooting to the media during a Thursday night news conference. The other victims were still in the hospital on Friday, according to a sheriff’s representative, and their situations were unknown at the time.
Who is the Shooter Who Opened Fire on the San Antonio Home?
As of Friday, law officials had yet to publicly identify the gunman, and no arrests had been made in connection with the incident. However, at Thursday’s press conference, the sheriff stated that persons of interest are being investigated in connection with the case.
“We’re pretty certain we’re hot on their tracks,” he said, declining to comment on the suspected. The sheriff said the gunman and the victims appeared to know each other.
“I have no doubt that they were after the people in that home for whatever reason,” stated Salazar. “These were folks who were clearly there to take life last night… They intended to pour enough lead into the house to cause the most harm. “To ensure that they killed someone.”
“Will it give me great pleasure to charge both of these two men with capital murder when the time comes?” Absolutely,” the sheriff replied. “It’s just something we can’t allow to happen anywhere, to anyone much less a 4-year-old child who had nothing to do with anything.”
Police Said They Retrieved 30 Bullets from the Location
The sheriff’s office released disturbing footage showing two individuals wearing ski masks approaching the townhome in what seems to be an Infiniti sedan, Salazar said. The vehicle parks next to a white box truck and the suspects are seen getting out and sprinting up to the house, where they open fire with semi-automatic rifles.
The men then return to the car with the high-powered guns and escape the scene. The sheriff said investigators discovered at least 30 bullet casings at the location.
Anyone with information on the incident should call the sheriff’s office.
