Navoy, Michael Richard
(FOX 2) SOUTHGATE, Mich.Authorities claim that a guy was trafficking women out of a house he owned, and he is now facing felony charges.
On Monday, Michael Richard Navoy, 70, is scheduled to be arraigned on counts of accepting money from a prostitute, engaging in forced labor that leads to commercial sexual conduct, using a computer to commit a felony, and maintaining a prostitution house.
On Friday, Navoy was taken into custody.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy stated, “Defendant Navoy is accused of engaging in human trafficking and running a prostitution house in Southgate, Michigan.” “As a result of the combined efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies working together, this defendant will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
On the same day, Navoy was arrested.
Authorities allegedly targeted massage parlors where Korean and Chinese women were coerced into working.
According to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, the investigation started with two distinct cases. The first had St. Clair Shores looking into a purportedly illegal massage establishment. The second investigation began with the Michigan State Police helping the Ohio Maumee Police Department, which resulted in the Michigan parlors being found.
