Father and Son Arrested in $3M Fake Designer Goods Bust in Miami
Miami police have arrested a father and son following the discovery of counterfeit designer goods worth $3 million. The duo, Giovanni Tummolillo Sr., 72, and Giovanni Tummolillo Jr., 40, were running their business, Leather Goods LLC, out of a downtown Miami storefront. The arrests came after an undercover investigation revealed they were selling fake luxury items.
Authorities launched the investigation in March after receiving a tip that counterfeit merchandise was being sold at the business, located in the historic Ingraham Building. With the help of an undercover informant, Miami police were able to purchase counterfeit goods resembling brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, and Tiffany & Co. The items were reportedly indistinguishable from the real products, according to police reports.
On August 23, police executed a search warrant at the store, seizing $3 million in counterfeit goods and manufacturing equipment. For more details on the investigation, visit Local 10.
