SeaWorld Rescues Three Florida Manatees for Rehabilitation

SeaWorld’s Manatee Rehabilitation Area has welcomed three new manatees, rescued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) earlier this week. The FWC responded to manatee sightings in New Smyrna Beach, Titusville, and Marathon, where the manatees were found in distress.

In New Smyrna Beach, one manatee swam away, but another was found with fishing line wrapped around its flipper. Near Titusville, a manatee with a watercraft wound was also rescued. In the Florida Keys, an orphaned manatee calf was found and taken in for care. All three were transferred to SeaWorld’s five-acre Rescue Center, where they will recover before returning to their natural habitat.

SeaWorld’s Rescue Center, established in 1965, is dedicated to rehabilitating marine wildlife, including manatees, sea turtles, and birds. To date, SeaWorld has saved over 41,000 animals, with over 800 of them being manatees.
