Kroger apologizes as shopper gets ‘Walmart experience’ at gas station and fumes ‘I don’t feel comfortable coming back’
KROGER has issued an apology to a furious shopper who claimed he received the Walmart experience and no longer feels he can return.
The shopper took to X after visiting a Kroger gas station where they had a poor experience.
“@kroger I just got harassed by one of your employees at the gas station,” user Adam wrote.
He then went on not only to slam the retailer but also its rival, Walmart.
“I thought that Kroger really hired only the best, but today I got the Walmart experience at your gas station,” he said.
“Honestly don’t feel comfortable coming back.”

A few hours later, Kroger responded to the post on X asking for further information so they could follow up on the complaint.
“We are very sorry to hear this,” Kroger’s apology read.
“Please send us a private message and provide us your phone number, email address, and the Fuel center you are referring to so we can forward your feedback to our leadership.
“Thank you and have a great day!”
But, Adam was not the only one to make a complaint about staff behaviour and alleged harassment.
“This is not unusual at Kroger,” another shopper commented.
“I went to the customer service desk just yesterday asking a simple question, and she didn’t know the answer and clearly didn’t care to look for it.
“When I express my displeasure, she followed me to the cash register and was in my face.”
The shopper went on to explain that he had to ask the Kroger employee to “stand back” and that she was incredibly rude to him.
Kroger also responded to this shopper assuring him that “this is now the experience we want for our customers to have.”
Others have complained on X about speeding delivery drivers who yelled at neighbors who told them to slow down, as well as no registers being open in stores, and delays on refunds.
The U.S. Sun previously reported on one shopper who claimed they were chased through a parking lot and told not to return.
Again, the retailer was quick to apologize after the shocked customer was falsely accused of theft which they insist they “absolutely did not do.”
“Very much enjoyed being run at in the parking lot by a security guard yelling about me stealing groceries, which I absolutely did not do,” the customer’s post on X read.
“After I refused to be searched (!), was told to not come there anymore! Keep it classy, Inglewood.”
The retailer vowed to “escalate” the situation to get to the bottom of it.
Public complaints on X are not just restricted to Kroger.

The U.S. Sun has contacted Kroger for comment.
