The Valley’s Jax Taylor was ‘forced into rehab to keep his job’ after an ‘explosive’ fight with ex Brittany Cartwright

THE Valley’s Jax Taylor was given an ultimatum by his team and producers to go into rehab or risk losing his job after an explosive fight with estranged wife Brittany Cartwright, a source has claimed.

Brittany, 35, filed for divorce earlier in August following his 30-day stay in a treatment center.

“Production told Jax that if he wanted to film The Valley, he had to go to rehab. So he went to save his job,” the insider said.

“It was a non-negotiable for them. It wasn’t his idea.”

Jax engaged in “inappropriate” behavior during an explosive fight with Brittany – which served as the last straw for Bravo, the source said.

“Jax went over the line on this occasion,” the insider claimed.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Jax and Bravo for comment.

Jax entered a mental health facility for treatment and later revealed on Instagram he’d been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD.

In an episode of Bravo’s Hot Mic with Alex Baskin out November 14, Jax admitted he “lost it” over July 4 weekend when he discovered Brittany had been hooking up with his friend, Julian Sensley, during their separation.

He said he saw texts from Julian to Brittany and admitted, “That’s where I just saw red, I had an out-of-body experience, I’m not going to lie to you. I went crazy.

“I threw furniture. Luckily, thank God, my son was upstairs. But that was my breaking point, and then two days later I ended up in an institution.”

‘RAGE TEXTING’

He claimed on the podcast that his friends staged an intervention when he came home from the gym soon after.

But he also admitted, “It was a lot of people, my manager saw me going a little bit off the rails, and they said, ‘Maybe this is a good move for you.’

“I honestly have to thank them. Because I was bad, I was really, really bad. I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t go to this institution.

“I really, really needed to go and I didn’t want to go. My ego just couldn’t even fit through the door when I got there. I didn’t want to be there the first week.”

Producer Alex also admitted, “We were very concerned.”

He switched from depression meds to bipolar treatment and claims he’s had no outbursts since.

Jax, 45, posted on Instagram after his stay in rehab to explain how he was diagnosed.

“A little over a month ago, I checked into an intensive inpatient treatment facility scared of the unknown and what I would find out about myself,” he wrote in the caption.

“After many years of knowing something was wrong but not knowing exactly what it was, I recently learned that I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD.

“It’s been a lot to process and an emotional time for me, however I’ve come home to my son with a new-found sense of peace.

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared for the future but my focus is just trying to be a better version of myself than I was yesterday.

“Mental health is a lifelong battle of not letting it control you but rather you learning to control it.”

Despite seemingly wanting to turn a corner, the insider went on to tell The U.S. Sun that Jax “has not changed” and still has a bad temper.

“He didn’t seem to take it seriously enough,” the insider said.

Their comments come after Brittany alleged he has “not changed at all,” which is why she finally decided to file for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

In October 2024, Jax gave Brittany full legal and physical custody of their son, Cruz, in divorce court documents.

Speaking on Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast, she said, “I don’t feel like he changed at all in those 30 days.

“And the reason, I’m sure it’ll be on the show as well, but, you know, a lot of rage texting and stuff was still going on the entire time that he was in rehab.”

Meanwhile, Brittany is rumored to be back on the dating scene since their separation and said she has no regrets after hooking up with Jax’s friend.

But a source said, “Brittany isn’t dating anyone specific at the moment. She’s having fun and is doing as well as possible given the circumstances.

“She’s spending a lot of time with her friends and focused on raising Cruz.

“Brittany and Jax are co-parenting but aren’t speaking much at the moment. She’s telling friends she’s totally done with him.”

Brittany previously opened up to The U.S. Sun about their split and what fans can expect from season two of The Valley.

She spoke about her split from Jax after undergoing Airsculpt body contouring treatment to get her sparkle back.

Talking about the new season, she said, “There’s been too much. I think everyone will see whenever the season airs why I finally got to the point where I did.

“I think a lot of people are gonna be shocked with everything that I’ve actually gone through that they’re gonna learn about.”

She also said the series will be “super relatable” for fans who will have gone through similar experiences.

“I think it’s gonna be one of the craziest seasons of reality TV, ever,” she added.

Jax and Brittany began dating on Vanderpump Rules, and fans saw the fallout from his behavior when he cheated on her.

She gave him another chance and the pair married in 2019.

They announced a trial separation before Brittany finally filed for divorce earlier this year.

“My family and friends have just been so incredible and so supportive,” she also told The U.S. Sun.
