Other fast food chains including McDonald’s, Sonic, and Burger King allow customers to buy a bag of ice.
ICE ICE BABY
Chick-fil-A’s ice is commonly referred to as nugget ice, pebble ice, Sonic ice, and cubelet ice.
The ice is made by freezing water into a tube and then chopping it into small pieces.
It is considered by many to be superior in texture to normal ice because it is softer and easier to chew.
The ice nuggets are porous, which means they can more easily absorb the flavors from soft drinks.
Chick-fil-A Hours
At a minimum, Chick-fil-A locations are open between 6:30 am and 9 pm, Monday through Saturday.
However, some restaurants serve customers later.
Since opening in 1946, all Chick-fil-A locations have been closed on Sundays.
The founder chose to close on Sundays to allow employees to worship or rest.
All locations are also closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Additionally, the air in the ice chunks helps them melt more slowly.
This keeps drinks colder and prevents them from watering down.
