Smothered star Gabriella Galasso wants mom Catherine to ‘carry her future baby’ as surrogate to feel ‘included’

SMOTHERED star Gabriella Galasso revealed she wants her mom, Catherine, to be her surrogate when she’s ready to have a child.

Catherine and Gabriella star in Smothered, a TLC series that follows six mother-daughter pairs who are extra close.

On Smothered, fans watched Catherine join Gabriella for a date.

In an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun, Gabriella gave an update on her dating life – and the one man who Catherine would support her daughter bringing home.

Gabriella said, “I am super focused on my career and building this empire. My mom and I are traveling so much, so I am not very focused on boys.”

Gabriella continued that she does talk to men, as she has them come into her Connecticut salon for a haircut.

Smothered’s Catherine & Gabriella ‘taking dance lessons’ to appear on DWTS

LAWN & ORDER

The 10-minute job you must do in October for lush grass, according to a pro

She said, “If you’re going to come in, come and pay for my time. And you’re going to come and sit, and I am going to do your hair. We can have a nice conversation, 30 minutes in and out.

“I actually had a guy come in on Saturday, and he brought me a rose, so that was really nice, but no sparks.”

Gabriella explained how she prefers her mother join her for dates because it’s “safer.”

Catherine then said how there is one man on their radar, New York Yankees right fielder Juan Soto.

Catherine said, “Number 22 on the Yankees, Juan Soto! He’s our guy, and we’re looking for him. We were just at Yankee Stadium. We did a fashion show before the game at New York Fashion Week, and we saw him.

“It’ll be like a love triangle! It’ll be Juan, Catherine and Gabriella. We’ll follow him wherever he goes!”

While Catherine seemed stern about her daughter not dating on the show, she revealed they came to the decision together.

“I want her with me,” Catherine said. “I think she has plenty of time to meet someone.”

“But again, it’s really what she wants. We do have private conversations about it to make sure this is what she wants. In my opinion, she has plenty of time.”

Gabriella added, “This is a trait I really like, when someone is independent in their own career and very driven towards that. I’m very much like that, so if someone else is like that I think it’ll just work better.

“If someone needs me 24/7, that’s not going to work. I have no time for that. He’s got to understand the dynamic.”

The two then joked about Catherine carrying her daughter’s child in the future.

The TLC star said, “This facade that women have to get married and have to have a kid by this age. That’s ridiculous. You can have kids in your 40s.

“It depends on the person. Sometimes having a family too early, there is a lot that goes into it. She wants me to carry them!”

Gabriella added, “That would be much easier. I don’t want to ruin my abs!”

Catherine then said, “I want to be included.”

CLOSE BOND

Also, in the interview, Catherine described her close relationship with her three daughters, as their bond “started right away.”

“I have always been an involved mother, always making sure they’re okay,” Catherine said.

Gabriella added, “She’s always been involved and there for us. Getting the show, we have been together so much more than if I had a 9 to 5 job, five days a week.

“We work, we are very normal people. I am a hair stylist, she works at a radio studio. We mirror our schedules so when we are doing press. We can take off. It’s very flexible working together. Now we’re way closer.”

Catherine added, “Starting out being smothered, I am not going to change. I’ve always been involved.”

FINDING FAME

Catherine and Gabriella became fan favorites during their debut for Season 5.

The mom of four first applied for the show ahead of the premiere season when she saw a casting ad for “mini-me mother and daughters.”

After three years of silence, she realized the ad was for Smothered and reapplied to the TLC series.

“It wasn’t right at that time, but the casting producer did keep us in mind,” Catherine explained. “We started doing a lot of social media. Gabriella has a big following on TikTok. Whenever I would show up, the numbers would go crazy!

“When the mama shows up, the numbers go up! We had so many viral TikToks.

“I would follow up and send them to the casting agent. And he did say the next time they opened casting we would be the first ones he called and he did.

“It took a lot of persistence. I just knew it was for us. We’re very grateful that he gave us the opportunity.”

Gabriella added, “I think you can see on our season we really made it our own. We made it about our own journey. Everyone’s journey looks different but, ours I particularly loved.”

If the show is renewed for Season 6, viewers could expect to see more from the tight-knit duo.

Catherine said, “If there is another season, we would 100 percent love to return. We love the show and we love the producers.

“As far as storylines, we have a lot up our sleeves.

“From pageants to modeling to a little new project we’re working on. We have a lot in the future.”

NEXT MOVE

The show followed Gabriella’s pageant journey for Miss Connecticut, where she placed fourth runner-up.

She previously told The U.S. Sun that she plans to move away from pageants and focus on other ventures.

“Since you’ve seen it on the show and since maybe I competed again, I think we’re moving away from pageantry into something new,” she said. “You’ll have to wait and see.

That “something new” would be a stint on Dancing With the Stars.

Gabriella told The U.S. Sun, “We would love to be on Dancing With the Stars, definitely. What is better than a mother-daughter duo? I mean, We would literally be in separate rooms practicing in the same exact outfit, that would be iconic!”

Catherine then revealed, “We like to be prepared. So we are taking some lessons. I won’t say what kind of lessons, but we are taking lessons because we’re going to be ready.”

The two then shimmied as they showed off some of their dance moves.

Gabriella gushed that she would “love” to be partnered with pro Ezra Sosa, who competed with Anna Delvy for the current season before they were eliminated.

“We’re kind of the same age, he’s super fun, I’m super fun,” she said.

The Connecticut-based hairstylist revealed she met Ezra at a recent event in Los Angeles.

“Ezra was there and I got to chat with him. He even danced with my mom! He said, ‘But who is going to get sent home first?’ And I said, ‘It’s not going to be me,” Gabriella teased.

Catherine quipped back, “It’s not going to be me! No way no how.

“I’ll take Val,” she said of Val Chmerkovskiy.

SHINY NEW VENTURE

Gabriella and Catherine are also focusing on their jewelry line, The Diamond Crown Collection.

Gabriella sells statement piece necklaces that feature a diamond crown on a thick chain in gold, silver and rose gold.

She said of the collection, “Personally, I am obsessed with it. I love a good, thick chain. It’s very modern. And crowns stand for pageantry, no matter if you win or lose a pageant, always wear a crown.

“Diamonds are my birth stone so I love that. It’s a little boost of confidence.
