Dick’s Sporting Goods confirms all 724 stores will close for 24 hours forcing shoppers to plan ahead
BOSSES at Dick’s Sporting Goods have confirmed that all of the chain’s outlets will be closing for the entire day in the coming weeks.
The pending shutdown is in line with a popular holiday.
Sports and outdoor stores will fall silent on the last Thursday of the month to mark Thanksgiving.
In a statement, chiefs revealed the closure allows staffers to spend time with their families.
The closure means that shoppers needing last-minute gifts or sportswear will need to plan ahead.
But, stores will re-open their doors on Black Friday at 6am and will not close until 10pm.

The company announced its holiday hours and unveiled a series of deals for Thanksgiving week.
Shoppers can get up to 30% off Nike products while also saving $300 on golf clubs.
Customers can shop in-store or take advantage of the company’s delivery options, such as free shipping and services provided by Instacart.
As of February this year, there were 724 Dick’s Sporting Goods locations across the US, and it has been part of the American retail scene since 1948.
Its competitors include REI, Foot Locker, and The North Face.
Dick’s is just one of a slew of retailers that will be closed for the Thanksgiving festivities.
More than 1,000 Michaels stores across the US will also be closed on November 28, and Hobby Lobby will not be much help either.
Walmart and Sam’s Club shoppers will also be forced to change their plans, as supermarkets and warehouses will be closed.
This year will be the fifth consecutive year that Walmart stores will be closed.
Aldi is also among the grocery store chains that close stores for the November holiday.
