Inside Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet’s romance, from the ‘magical night’ they met to a PDA at US Grand Prix
There are no limits to the passion between Kelly Piquet and Max Verstappen.
They put on the PDA as recently as the US Grand Prix, where the world champion finished on the podium and came one victory away from taking home another championship.
This weekend, Verstappen defeated competitor Lando Norris to win the Las Vegas Grand Prix for the fourth time in a row.
Brazilian Wag, Kelly, will undoubtedly be supporting the Dutchman from the Red Bull paddock.
They bonded over their misbehaving fathers who were Formula One racers when they first met in 2016.
After falling in love in 2020, they quickly moved in together in a 13 million dollar Monaco home with a view of the Mediterranean.
The’magical moment’ when they first saw each other is where SunSport examines their relationship.
Magic moment
Verstappen had supper with Nelson Jr., Kelly’s brother, in 2016.
Speaking to Vogue Netherlands, the attractive brunette joined them in Monaco for the event.
At the time, she was 28 and he was 19.
“Max was friends with my brother Nelson and we all went out for dinner in Monaco one night,” she described in a 2022 interview with the fashion publication.
“That was in 2016, six years ago. However, that night already had a certain magic.
“That’s when our connection began,” she continued. And for the time being, I’ll stop there.”
But starting in 2017, Kelly started dating Russian driver Daniil Kvyat in place of Max.
After only two years of dating, they broke up, leaving behind a daughter named Penelope.
Kelly and Max got back in touch in 2020, and in 2021, they officially joined Instagram.
On New Year’s Day, Max posted a picture of the two of them on social media.
With the message, “Let’s make 2021 a year to remember in many ways,” he shared the adorable photo.
“Wishing you all success, love and happiness just as I found mine.”
Kelly’s thoughts
Kelly has been quite forthright about her friendship with Max.
She discussed their nine-year age gap in the same interview with Vogue Netherlands.
“I think we have a very healthy relationship, easygoing, we have a lot of understanding and support for each other,” she stated.
“You would think that the age gap would be difficult, but so far, everything is going great.
“I also think it’s great how he handles Penelope. It’s very endearing.
“He always asks for her, returns her love, and stops by to greet her as he leaves. Adorable!”
Kelly grew up surrounded by motor racing and has a strong bond with her kid.
Nelson Piquet, a Brazilian and three-time Formula One winner, is her father.
Jos, Verstappen’s father, competed in Formula One racing from 1994 to 2003.
How they live
Verstappen and Kelly generally keep their personal lives relatively secret, despite the occasional glimpse they post on Instagram.
Valentine’s Day and their most recent celebration of four years together both feature declarations of love.
Kelly celebrated their anniversary on Instagram by sharing a bikini photo of herself with Verstappen, who was also enjoying the sun, following their passionate kiss in Texas during the US Grand Prix in October.
The picture’s caption read, “4 years and countless happy moments.”
The picture seemed to have been taken from their 13 million Monaco home’s balcony.
He and Kelly share their stylish apartment with their Bengal cats, whom he has shown off in glimpses.
He enjoys taking to the water in his free time on a jet ski bearing the Red Bull logo, which is estimated to be worth about sixteen thousand dollars.
According to reports, Max purchased a $12 million private plane from Sir Richard Branson for all of his international flights, which costs more than $830,000 to operate.
Max has made sure the Falcon-900EX is tailored to his upscale preferences; it features a matte finish and his insignia, a lion, on the tail fin, honoring the Netherlands’ national animal.
When he takes a private flight, Kelly frequently goes with him.
What the future holds
As things stand, there isn’t a wedding imminent.
Verstappen previously intimated that he wasn’t ready and stated that “time will tell” if he and Piquet will get married.
Verstappen, however, has done a fantastic job as a stepdad and has hinted at the prospect of having kids with Piquet.
“At the end of the day, it’s not something you decide,” he said to Mariana Becker, a Brazilian journalist. Sometimes it must occur.
“I’m not sure if there is a God or not, who determines when it’s time to have a baby,” he continued. But having a child would be wonderful.
