RHOSLC star Mary Cosby’s son Robert Jr. tells court he finished inpatient rehab after sparking concern with behavior
The U.S. Sun can exclusively disclose that Robert Jr., the son of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby, has informed a Utah court that he has finished his time in treatment.
In August, 21-year-old Robert Jr. checked himself into an inpatient treatment center in California as part of his ongoing DUI case from 2022, as The U.S. Sun exclusively reported.
The U.S. Sun has received new court documents that show Robert Jr. is back in Utah.
On November 21, the RHOSLC guest star and his lawyer showed up for their scheduled hearing in Murray Justice Court.
According to the court minutes, the defendant claims to have finished inpatient treatment.
Robert Jr. must, however, appear in court again in January after reportedly failing to produce documentation proving he finished every step of his treatment plan.

According to the documents, the prosecutor issued an order to show cause because the defendant had not completed either 30 days of home confinement or the 16-week Prime For Life substance abuse treatment program with random testing.
According to the website, Prime For Life is an alcohol and drug program that offers court-mandated classes to assist participants in thinking critically about their decisions, feeling inspired and motivated to make changes, and safeguarding the things they love most in life.
Robert Jr.’s lawyer was contacted by the U.S. Sun for comment, but he did not immediately reply.
‘HEALTHY’ CHANGES
Mary, 52, hinted that her son was getting better in a recent interview.
“Robert is steady,” she stated on November 19 on the Virtual Reali-Tea podcast from Page Six. “He’s steady, which for me is healthy, and he’s doing good.”
“He’s working on [himself] on telling lies,” she added. He’s trying to be more truthful with me and not try to trick me.
“And that right there I think those little changes has better[ed] our relationship because, you know, that’s more trust, more love, and loving me in the right way, not taking advantage of Mom because I’m weak to him and he knows it.”
LONG ROAD TO RECOVERY
The last time Robert appeared in court was on July 8.
On August 15, he was supposed to appear in court, but his lawyer told the judge that he couldn’t because he was “at an inpatient treatment facility in California.”
Robert had already finished a Victim Impact Panel course and a 10-day detox treatment, both mandated by the court, by the July hearing.
According to court documents, he had also finished 30 days of house confinement in 2023.
According to a report submitted to the court on July 3 by Assessment, Counseling & Educational Services (ACES), Robert has been “non-compliant.”
The counselors pointed out that his last exam for them was in May and that they “had no contact” with him since the last hearing, which was a month ago.
Records obtained by The U.S. Sun indicate that he tested positive for cocaine, fentanyl, and THC in May.
When the housewife’s lone child was apprehended by police in March 2022 for breaking traffic laws and throwing a case of beer cans into a dumpster, Robert was first charged with DUI.
Robert reportedly told the officer that he “did not have a driver’s license” and that “he had not been drinking and does not drink alcohol.”
But he acknowledged that he had just “taken some oxycontin, Xanax, and smoked marijuana.”
He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, making an incorrect right turn, driving under suspension due to alcohol, and failing to operate within a single lane after failing the field sobriety tests, which included blowing “triple zeros” in the breathalyzer test.
In September 2022, the other three accusations were dropped with prejudice, with the exception of the DUI, to which Robert had entered a guilty plea.
WORRIED MOM
Robert’s unsettling behavior has come to light during this season of RHOSLC, as he was frequently observed ignoring his mother in their house and becoming less talkative.
Robert frequently hid in his bedroom with Alexiana, his wife of two years.
“At the moment, Robert is at home. He’s not a college student. “Yes, Robert is not working, and he does ask me for money,” Mary said to the cameras.
However, I don’t mind his being at home because I think I’m to blame for his extreme shelteredness.”
Mary discovered Robert and his wife eating in bed during the most recent episode, slurring their sentences and appearing tired.
“When was the last time you picked up?” she questioned him. when she discovered his room was in disarray.
I’m worried about something that’s happening with Robert Jr. Usually incredibly ambitious, he hasn’t been lately. She told the cameras, “He’s not doing anything.”
In the past, Mary did not accompany co-star Bronwyn Newport on her family vacation to Palm Springs.
“You’ve got to be real,” Mary said to her son in the midseason teaser. He seemed to sob in front of her, saying, “You need to talk to me.”
The trailer then cut to Mary telling her friend Angie Katsanevas, “My family needs me right now.”
On social media, fans also voiced their displeasure with Robert Jr.’s actions.
One Reddit user said, “This was so sad to watch,” after seeing the bedroom where Robert Jr. and Alexiana were spotted.
