Shoppers warn ‘double check your receipts’ after catching Target overcharging for 2 years & it happened 3 times in a day
After discovering that the chain store was overcharging them, a TARGET customer has advised other consumers to review their receipts.
After being overcharged three times in one day, Holly Barlett posted on the social networking platform Facebook to advise people to “double check” their receipts.
Holly expressed her frustration on the Sierra Vista Community Page.
“If you shop at Target, please check your receipts again,” she warned.
“I’ve been routinely overcharged for the last two years, to the point that I hardly ever purchase there anymore.
“On three products, it occurred once again today. I had to go to customer service to rectify the other two after I caught one at the register and got it changed.

“Every time I visit Target, I usually have to go to customer service to receive a refund for at least one item.
Even though the sums are small, they pile up, and if they are doing this to every consumer, it’s a significant sum of money.
“Every time, I’ve spoken with them and informed them that this is a persistent issue that requires their attention, but nothing has changed. I hope everything is resolved because I finally wrote to corporate today.
Other irate customers also complained about being overcharged at the Target store in Arizona in the comment area.
Another commenter said: “At the Sierra Vista Target, I’ve had items with clearance tags ring up at full price on several occasions.
“Sometimes they ll price correct, others they ve told me it s full price.”
Another person commented: “I’ve experienced it with sale things there and had to let them know the right price, and they changed it.
“Also helps to have the app up and just show it to them.”
A third individual, however, claimed that it also occurred at Walmart, stating: “I quit shopping at Walmart for the same reason.
“The other reason is that you can find the same item in two different departments, ie. batteries injewelleryand batteries in electronics at two different prices.”
It comes after another Target customer claimed she was prevented from checking out her groceries and promised to boycott the store.
After the less-than-ideal experience, the consumer, who visited a store in New Britain, Connecticut, even said the brand had lost a customer.
According to a post on X, Shelly Sindlan said that she had been in line for fifteen minutes when a worker came up to her.
She said that because it was an express lane, she was not allowed to scan her belongings.
There was only one lane available, and Sindlan had to wait in another queue.
She remarked, “You just lost a good customer.”
Sindlan concluded her message by saying, “Bye, bye Target,” vowing to spend her money elsewhere.
Nearly 2,000 Target locations have lately implemented so-called express lanes.
Following a testing phase at about 200 stores, the lanes were implemented in the fall of 2023.

Although supervisors indicated there would be additional traditional self-checkout lanes, policies were implemented that restricted self-checkout users to a maximum of 10 items.
