British mum dies after drinking ‘psychedelic drug-laced tea’ praised by Prince Harry at Bolivian detox retreat

At a retreat in Bolivia that specializes in the psychedelic substance ayahuasca, a BRIT mother passed away.

It was said that Maureen Rainford’s daughter passed out after consuming the drug in a tea.

It is the same medication that Prince Harry controversially acknowledged using last year to deal with the loss of his mother, Diana.

The Amazon commune Maureen attended was advertised as a wellness and detox retreat with strict diets, and her family emphasized that she had been in good health and fitness.

Last month, the 54-year-old mother of three from Romford, Essex, made reservations for the 800-day stay at the Ayahuasca & San Pedro Pisatahua Retreat.

At ceremonies, a shaman will distribute ayahuasca, an illegal Class A drug in the UK that produces pleasure, energy, and visions.

Breathing rate plummeted

The 32-year-old daughter Rochel claimed that a resort administrator named Eric informed her that Maureen had experienced a medical issue.

Rochel was informed by others that she complained of feeling ill ten minutes after consuming the ayahuasca tea, as her heart and respiration rate fell sharply.

Despite CPR efforts, she passed away an hour later. The family heard that a doctor had arrived later.

When dispensing hallucinogenic substances in a distant location, Rochel told The Sun on Sunday that a qualified medical professional should be on call.

Since her body would disintegrate, Eric attempted to insist that she be cremated in Bolivia, but I didn’t want a cover-up.

Maureen’s body was returned after contacting the British consulate, according to Rochel, and a post-mortem revealed that she had suffered a heart attack.

The funeral was held last week, and the coroner in East London was notified of the deceased.

“I want to spread the word about these places to people who are tempted by glossy brochures selling a dream,” Rochel continued.

According to a retreat spokesperson, she passed away from a medical condition unrelated to ayahuasca.

We send our condolences to her family, they continued.

Last year, Prince Harry came under fire for saying the medicine helped him cope with the death of his mother in 1997.

He stated: “Wow, it’s not about the crying after taking ayahuasca with the right people,” he remarked.
