Emergency blood transfusion saved my baby daughter’s life… now she’ll celebrate her first Christmas
A family that has benefited from blood transfusions for three generations has expressed gratitude to kind donors.
When Isabella Mackay was born in January, she required blood.
Due to sepsis and gran, mother Lauren Webster, 35, contracted it at the age of 15. When Donna Webster gave birth to Lauren, she required blood.
“We would like to remind donors that your gift keeps on giving for many years or, in our case, many generations,” said Donna, 61, of Blair-Gowrie, Perthshire, who has urged others to donate blood.
She went on to say: “Isabella was given emergency blood immediately upon her birth in January 2024.
“After Lauren was born, I got blood. At the age of 15, Lauren had sepsis and need blood.
“She is now a mother to her own child, Isabella.
“Thanks to blood donors, our family has three generations that are content and healthy.
“Looking forward to Isabella’s first Christmas this year is particularly poignant” .
“We are really grateful to you all. This Christmas, we would want to encourage everyone to think about donating blood, platelets, or plasma.
