Watch Keir admit ‘I’m not surprised’ as he’s confronted with 2million-strong petition demanding another election

A petition calling for a snap general election, signed by over two million British citizens, has been dismissed by Sir Keir Starmer.

The prime minister denied the mounting criticism and stated that he is not shocked that people want a rerun.

During his appearance on ITV’s This Morning, the prime minister stated that his government’s emphasis on doing the “difficult things first” would inevitably lead to frustration.

“I remind myself that very many people didn’t vote Labour at the last election,” he said to broadcasters Andi Peters and Cat Deeley.

“I don’t find it shocking that a lot of them desire a rerun.

“That isn’t how our system works.”

He continued: “The thing is, if you make your mind up, as I have done, that we’re going to do the difficult things first, then I think it’s inevitable that people do feel their difficult decisions…”

Since it was started by small company owner Michael Westwood, the petition, which accuses Labour of breaching electoral promises and demands a new election, has gone viral.

After being circulated by right-wing politicians and individuals, it has amassed about two million signatures and continues to grow by tens of thousands of names every hour.

In an intriguing tweet, tech tycoon Elon Musk, the owner of X and a member of the upcoming government of US President Donald Trump, claimed that the petition had broken the record for the quickest time to achieve 100,000 signatures.

The petition was posted on Sunday by Reform UK leader Nigel Farage MP and his deputy Richard Tice MP. Farage stated that he had never seen anything such.

If this Labour government were a consumer product, people may return it under consumer misselling laws following Rachel Reeves’ budget tax hikes (which stated that “we have no plans to increase tax”), according to a link shared on X by Shadow Business Secretary Andrew Griffith.

The Prime Minister’s Great Escape

As he joined his daughter in an escape room for her birthday this past weekend, Sir Keir Starmer found himself in a literal bind.

The Prime Minister told ITV’s This Morning about his family’s adventure: She insisted that we visit one of those escape rooms where you are trapped in and must solve puzzles to get out.

“When she uttered it for the first time, I thought, Wow! When you’re finished, I’ll have a good cup of coffee.

“But you are in there with me,” she added. Thus, we completed it yesterday.
