FIFA finally reveals its game to rival EA Sports FC but it’s not coming to consoles
We have been anxiously awaiting the firm that will acquire the FIFA license ever since FIFA and EA split up.
FIFA has consistently stated that a new football video game series bearing the FIFA logo will be released.
FIFA has yet to release a complete football game, despite announcing in October that it would collaborate with Konami to build a FIFAe World Cup.
FIFA introduced four NFT games and cryptocurrency-based apps just before the 2022 World Cup, which damaged the reputation of the football association.
Even though we don’t yet have many information, FIFA’s upcoming gaming project appears to be a little more plausible.
The game is being created by Mythical Games, the same company that makes NFL Rivals, and will be titled FIFA Rivals.
More in Mobile Games
Mythical Games has just published a brief teaser trailer for FIFA Rivals, which is scheduled to premiere in the middle of 2025.
But since they have a developer in common, it will probably follow a similar formula to NFL Rivals.
NFL Rivals and EA Sports FC are quite similar, even though NFL Rivals is a mobile game.
In both games, you form your squad by opening packs of cards, and then you play on the field with them.
To make money, FIFA Rivals will be a free-to-play game with in-game purchases.
It is powered by Mythical Games’ proprietary platform, which was created to boost in-game purchases and player engagement.
Even while it’s not the FIFA game that everyone anticipated or expected, it’s a step closer to becoming a rival to EA FC than it has ever been.
FIFA fun
Since the developer is so forthright about how predatory the microtransaction model’s practices are, we’re not huge supporters of it.
Nevertheless, considering FIFA’s previous efforts, especially the NFT initiatives, this represents a significant advancement.
Players will have to settle for smaller games like this since it currently appears doubtful that a big FIFA-licensed game would ever be launched.
