Target makes strategic change just in time for the holiday as it launches exclusive item with ‘croc-like’ design

With the introduction of a unique branded product, TARGET is attracting Christmas customers.

Just in time for Christmas, Target will carry the popular Bogg Bags tote, which was inspired by the style and material of Crocs.

Bogg Bags’ perforated bags, which are made of the same plastic as Crocs, are causing a stir on social media.

The company produces the bags in a range of vibrant hues, and a new version will soon be available only at Target.

A red tote featuring Target’s red-and-white bullseye logo was introduced by the business in collaboration with Bogg Bags.

Starting on December 8, the limited-edition bag will be offered in the outdoor recreation area of the majority of Target’s 1,900 stores across the country.

The original huge size of the bags will cost between $90 and $100, while the smaller size will cost $60.

Additionally, Target will be the only place for customers to get two more colorways.

Bogg Bags

Lightweight, mess-free, and non-collapsible bags are available from Bogg Bags.

Mother of two Kim Vaccarella launched the business in New Jersey in 2008.

She saw a need in the market for practical bags designed for women and decided to fill it. Vaccarella set out to make a beach tote that was large enough to hold necessities and was both durable and machine-washable.

When the so-called “Peloton moms” used the bags to store their Pelotongear and shared their experiences on Facebook throughout the pandemic, Bogg Bags’ popularity soared.

TikTok, where users would post videos of themselves packing their bags with different things, helped them go viral even further.

The business’s selling approach is like to that of the viral Stanley Cup brand, which has exclusive agreements with major retailers like Target and Starbucks.

Bogg Bags lovers have been known to shell out hundreds of dollars to buy every new color in the same model, much like Stanley Cup aficionados.

In early December, Bogg Bags will also introduce its Beach Hydrangea and For Shore White prints to the store.

BOGG BAGS BUZZ

Bogg Bags started off selling wholesale through independent shops, but as their popularity has increased, they are now more frequently found in retailers like Dillard’s and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

As of right now, Bogg Bag’s biggest retail partner is the department store Target.

During its first two months at Target, the business expects to sell about 75,000 totes.

According to Kim Vaccarella, founder of Bogg Bags, “going into Target is a big deal and obviously a lot of people’s dream.”

She acknowledged, though, that working with a shop the size of Target wasn’t without its difficulties.

The founder was concerned that the local boutiques, surf shops, and family-run department stores that sold Bogg Bags would see a decline in sales if she stocked her bags at Target.

Our approach to small-business partners differs greatly from that of our strategic partners. We enjoy that relationship. Vaccarella stated, “You don’t want everyone to feel like they’re at the bottom of the barrel right now.”

Of the 4,500 locations in the US that sell Bogg Bags, about 2,200 are independent retailers, which Vaccarella attributed to the growth of her business.

The inventor developed a method that keeps her small company partners from competing with big-box stores like Target in order to avoid depriving local businesses of sales.

To keep the inventory divided and segregated, Bogg Bags sells some colors and patterns only at Target stores and others just at neighborhood boutiques.

Since many Bogg Bags aficionados collect several patterns, Vaccarella is not concerned about buyers buying only one bag.

“Everywhere you look, you can find something new,” she added. It resembles an Easter egg hunt.
