As they struck the battlefield in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, on Tuesday, the artifacts from the Soviet era were visible beneath steel plates and chain fringes.
Originally deployed by the Soviet Union in 1976, the T-80 tanks have come to represent Russia’s degrading dependence on antiquated military hardware.
The purpose of the makeshift armor is to protect Vlad’s depleting forces from Kyiv’s anti-tank rockets and drones.
Images reveal that nearly the whole tank is covered in steel sheds, with a space at the front where the turret can shoot at hostile soldiers.
However, this undoubtedly hinders field awareness and visibility from inside the mechanical beasts.
