DWTS alum Keo Motsepe thinks there’s a ‘clear winner’ for season 33 but reveals reason why contestant will end up losing
Keo Motsepe, a pro on Dancing With the Stars, believes there will be a clear winner for season 33, but he has disclosed why he doesn’t believe the winner will be the contestant.
In the two years after his previous appearance on the show, the Miami-based choreographer has closely monitored his DWTS family and has been open about the contestants’ and pros’ performances this year.
When asked who he believes should win the 2024 Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, 35-year-old Keo did not hesitate in an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun.
I mean, that’s quite obvious when it comes to dancing. Chandler is excellent. He said with confidence, “If I had to close my eyes and go in terms of dancing, that’s it, it’s Chandler.”
Not even going the opposite way is an option. However, the show isn’t about that. People vote based on their emotions, and the show covers a wide range of topics.
I like Danny and Illona; she’s getting better. Chandler and Brandon are obviously excellent, but once more, Dancing With the Stars is about the voters, not the dancers.

They’re trying to connect with you. And based just on appearances, I believe that Ilona is relatable to many individuals.
The 24-year-old actress Chandler Kinney has wowed the audience with her outstanding performance alongside 30-year-old all-star pro Brandon Armstrong.
Olympian in rugbyWith the help of her partner, Alan Bersten, 30, Ilona Maher, 28, has significantly improved during the season despite having no prior dance expertise.
He went on to say that he believes every competitor is doing fantastically this season and that they are all extremely good.
Additionally, you and your spouse have chemistry, and I adore certain couples. Look at Sasha and his companion, Jen, you know.
I thought, “Wow,” because of the chemistry they have and the way Sasha is so committed in the season. The fact that they went home made me quite sad.
Despite missing the last two seasons of the show, the South African native has his sights set on The Mirrorball and has revealed which celebrity would be his ideal partner the next time he enters the ballroom.
Who do you know? Vanessa Hudgens. When asked who he would like to be partnered with on Net, Keo smiled broadly and stated, “Oh, my gosh, I would love that.”
She’s also a fantastic dancer, I know that. Vanessa Hudgens, yes. I’ve always had a thing for Vanessa.
Even though she’s married and all, I still have a thing for her. I mean, dancing with her on the show will be awesome.
MAKING HISTORY
When Keo was matched with Olympian Lolo Jones for season 19, he became the first Black professional dancer on DWTS, making history in 2014.
Although many believe they were cheated and should have won, he continued to compete in the following ten seasons, most successfully with Harry Potter actress Evelyn Lynch, who finished third in the season 27 finals.
Keo never made it back to the DWTS stage after finishing 13th in season 29 with Anne Hechein, leaving spectators at home to speculate.
After his sudden departure, Keo told The U.S. Sun that he observes fan cries that they miss him and expressed his thanks because the support is undoubtedly felt.
Being on the show is still something I miss. In any person’s life or journey, there are times when you quit doing something because of whatever circumstance arises, yet you still miss that final moment.
You think, “This is it, one last chance to be on stage.” I want that, I want that.
I believe that when the moment is right and everything on the internet about my returning will come to pass, I will return, according to the cosmos, God, and the show’s producers.
One thousand percent “I’d like to return,” Keo grinned.
‘IT WAS A ROUGH TIME’
He continued by saying that DWTS pros don’t even receive the news that they’ve advanced to the following season call sheet until a few days before production begins, but his losing his mother in 2021 put everything into perspective to the point that he wasn’t even considering returning next year.
They call at the last minute, as in, we don’t know on the program, and sometimes you don’t get a call until two days before you meet your spouse.
And I believe that after losing my mother, I was in a state where I was unsure of whether I was up or down or ahead, regardless of whether I received a call.
I believe the main reason I didn’t do the show or do anything that would put me on a platform, like publicly, is that it was a really difficult period for me personally.
“Stuff like that so like everything I’ve done recently has been since then has been like behind the scenes you know.”

Since then, Keo has been choreographing performances for several cruise lines based in the Miami area. He acknowledges that while his latest, more behind-the-scenes employment have been enjoyable, he misses being the center of attention.
It’s been amazing to watch people smiling just because they’re performing, and I get to choreograph that, but I do miss the performance a lot. The emphasis has been solely on healing, even if I watch motionless.
“I literally lost my mom, who was my best self. Aside from wonderful days, there are sometimes days when I wake up and think, ‘I miss my mom.’
“There are days when I want to tell my mom something, and sometimes I just start weeping, so it’s a process. Other times, I’m like, let me call my mom.
