Mike McCarthy breaks silence over Dallas Cowboys future after Jerry Jones makes head coach decision

In regards to his future with the Dallas Cowboys, Mike McCarty has spoken up.

McCarthy has so far led the NFL powerhouses through a terrible season.

However, Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys, has stated that he might receive a new contract at AT&T Stadium.

McCarthy is only concerned with improving the team’s performance on the field, even if he has praised Jones’ public statement of confidence.

“I haven’t really talked about it all year, so I’m definitely not going to start on a short week and an important division game,” the 61-year-old stated.

“But don’t worry, I won’t discard good vibrations either, so keep them coming. Everything is fine.

With a 4-7 record so far this season, the Cowboys face a real risk of missing the playoffs.

According to the 82-year-old, “Mike McCarthy is an exceptional coach.

“Mike McCarthy has done that and gone there. He has brilliant ideas.

Michael Irvin, a former wide receiver with the Cowboys, though, said it would be “ludicrous” of Jones to offer McCarthy a new contract.

When the 58-year-old appeared on FS1’s “Speak,” Irvin responded, “It would be crazy.”

“You can’t blame Mike for everything, so I suppose Jerry is attempting to accept some responsibility.

“They were still not looking good until Dak was hurt.

“With Dak Prescott, they were scoring 20 points a game on average, which was insufficient.

“They were three to five years old. It’s absurd to be discussing Mike McCarthy’s return. In fact, it’s absurd.
