LA Lakers make major Bronny James roster decision with son of NBA legend LeBron forced into G League
The LA Lakers appear to have made a significant choice about Bronny James’ future.
The son of NBA veteran and world-renowned player Lebron James, Bronny has already made five appearances for the Los Angeles Lakers this season.
The South Bay Lakers, the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, have also played in the G League twice.
However, Bronny has only played in South Bay’s home games and has stayed with the Lakers for the G League team’s road trips.
According to reports, he has been “assigned” to the South Bay roster for their upcoming two games.
“The Lakers have assigned guard Bronny James and forward Maxwell Lewis to the South Bay Lakers,” Lakers Nation reporter Trevor Lane said on X.

However, because Bronny is now battling a left heel contusion, it’s unclear if he will play in the bouts.
Many, notably former Laker Charles Barkley, have been baffled by Bronny’s frequent transition between the Lakers’ active roster and the G League.
“[It’s been] terrible,” he recently told Audacity Sports. I was really filming The Match with Ken Griffey Jr. before the season began, and it was hilarious.
“He told me that he was going to that first game with his dad.
Later, while I was with my stupid pals, they asked me if I thought Bronny would be on the roster for opening day.
“I stated that there is a 100% likelihood.
“There is just no way that Nike is putting Ken Griffey Jr. out there while Bronny isn’t joining his father on the court.
“That is the makings of a Nike commercial.
“I thought the small celebration for his first game was fantastic. The child isn’t prepared to play in the NBA, though.
“He ought to play basketball in the G League.
“Sitting on the bench won’t make him better. In addition to this, he will only play games at home.
“It’s unfair to him and foolish. The team isn’t treated fairly. Can you picture that team’s coach?
“You have a player you haven’t seen in a week or two after returning from a road trip. After that, you most likely feel compelled to play him.
They aren’t doing Bronny any favors, in my opinion. They’ve just done a terrible job of handling things.

“The Lakers don’t look good. I think LeBron has done a great job.
However, I think it’s a horrible look for him (too).
