I’m my own TWIN – I have two sets of DNA, two blood types & even different skin tones with a dividing line down my body
After being informed that she has two distinct sets of DNA and even different blood types, a model has found out she is truly her own twin.
Taylor Muhl is reported to have a rare genetic disorder known as human Chimerism as a result of absorbing her brother while they were both still in the womb to produce a single child.
Due to her uncommon genetic composition, the California musician also has some observable physical differences.
Her two interior beings are effectively separated by a line that runs down her body.
She has had two distinct skin tones since birth since one half of her body is slightly darker than the other.
The 41-year-old has always thought her twin is the owner of the left side of her pigmentation.

Because of her affliction, Taylor is one of just 100 individuals diagnosed with Chimerism worldwide.
This indicates that when she was still in her mother’s womb, she merged with her fraternal brother.
She told Barcroft TV that she sees herself as her “own twin” and has been transparent about the illness.
“I have two genetic makeups within one body,” Taylor stated. In a sense, it is like having two completely different people under the same car’s hood.
“No one truly knew about my second-color skin pigmentation when I was growing up, therefore nobody mentioned it.
“I’ve been told my second-color skin pigmentation is merely a birthmark my entire life.
“Most doctors, even in this day and age, don t know about Chimerism because it s that rare.”
Because she didn’t have any ultrasound scans done before becoming pregnant, Taylor’s mother, Alex, was unaware that she was expecting twins.
Even though midwives would not advise it, Alex wanted to have a home delivery and a fully natural pregnancy.
Alex was due to have a second girl, according to Taylor’s chromosome test results.
The unusual coloration on her abdomen was seen by the nurses as soon as she was born.
At first, they thought it was merely a blemish.
Taylor even attempted to have her skin pigmentation laser removed at one time, but the procedure left her in excruciating pain.
However, as Taylor grew into a teenager, a series of odd ailments began to affect her.
Taylor was still ignorant about her illness and thought it was simply the result of a weakened immune system.
She wasn’t diagnosed by a doctor until she was in her twenties.
She then found out that one half of her body was believed to be attacking the other, which was the cause of her health problems.
She has two distinct immune systems and two sets of DNA, which explains this.
What is human Chimerism?
A genetic disorder known as human chimerism occurs when an individual has cells from two distinct origins.
When fraternal twins unite in the womb to form a single entity, this can happen.
The newborn may develop two distinct DNAs, immune systems, blood cells, and morphological characteristics as a result of this fusion.
Chimerism can also happen after receiving a transplant.
Since organ transplants involve introducing a distinct portion of a person’s body into a foreign entity, they may result in the syndrome.
With the new organ containing donor cells and DNA distinct from the rest of the body, the receiver will have two distinct cell types.
Typical characteristics include:
- Two different skin pigmentations on one body
- Different eye colours
- A silver patch of hair
However, because the illness won’t interfere with their day-to-day activities, the majority of people won’t even be aware that they have it.
In order to maintain her health and keep herself active, Taylor now takes potent probiotics and vitamin supplements.
Even with all of that, though, I still deal with food allergies and autoimmune issues on a daily basis, so emotionally, it may be exhausting and frustrating, she told Yahoo.
As a child, Taylor frequently expressed her desire to have a twin.
Taylor claims that she is content with her life despite never having a brother.
