Google Maps makes major change that affects all drivers – don’t ignore new alert
All drivers should be aware of a new function that Google Maps has added to the app.
With a new alert feature that might be useful, the platform is following in the footsteps of Waze, which is also owned by Google.
In order to facilitate others’ travel from point A to point B, Google Maps users can report a variety of issues, including accidents and roadblocks.
Speed trap alerts on Google Maps have been used for a long time to alert users to areas where speeding is common.
However, Android Authority reports, a new generic police tag that covers all police presence on the road, are replacing these reports.
As part of the redesign, a police tag is now displayed higher up on the “add a report” page.

Users have only mentioned the modifications on the mobile app thus far.
Whether it appears on Apple CarPlay or Android Auto has not yet been confirmed.
According to Google’s website, Waze, which has had this feature for some time, enables users to report police sightings along their route in an effort to make other users’ driving experiences better.
Real-time incident report features have been available on the Android Auto mobile app for a while, but the tech giant only recently integrated them.
For $1.3 billion (1.02), Google purchased Waze in June, and it has been gradually integrating several of its well-liked features into Google Maps.
Waze added additional camera warnings during the summer that let you know what kind of camera you’re getting close to, such as a speed camera or one that’s used to detect drivers running red lights.
