Tom Brady interrupts Fox NFL partner to tell him ‘you were supposed to skip that’ after bringing up Thanksgiving blunder
Fox partner Kevin Burkhardt reminded Tom Brady of a humiliating incident that happened during his NFL career.
On Thursday, the 47-year-old was making his first Thanksgiving game call for the network.
Additionally, it happened 24 years after he made his playing debut as a quarterback for the New England Patriots.
Brady and Burkhardt were in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium to call the Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants game.
Curt Menefee, the Fox NFL host, introduced them to the pregame program by mentioning Brady’s 2000 debut.
He replaced Drew Bledsoe late in the game as the Detroit Lions were overwhelming the Patriots.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion talked about his first NFL completion, which was a six-yard pass to Rob Rutledge, a tight end.
Burkhardt, his broadcast partner, however, brought to his attention a less satisfying instance.
“You told me that your second pass was almost a pick six to the house,” Burkhardt stated.
After that, Brady said, “You were supposed to skip that part.”
In the ensuing exchange, Burkhardt was on the defensive.
When the lead play-caller said, “We’re being thankful that it wasn’t – that’s the whole idea,”
Then, 24 years after his debut, Brady showed off his photographic memory.
“The first pass was doinked off of JR Redmond’s helmet,” he said.
“I nearly threw a pick-six on the second one.
However, I eventually finished the third one for Rod Rutledge.
“It was a low point, but it was all uphill from there.”
What rules Brady must stick too
The following is a list of regulations that Tom Brady needs to follow…
- Not permitted to be in another team’s facility
- Not permitted to witness practice
- Not permitted to attend broadcast production meetings, either in person or virtually
- Prohibited from publicly criticizing game officials and other teams
- Subject to the league’s gambling policy
- Subject to the league’s anti-tampering policies, limiting him to “strictly social communication with members of other clubs”
Burkhardt concurred, saying, “Yeah, I think it worked out OK for you.”
Brady is regarded as the best player of all time and went on to win seven Super Bowls.
He has a $375 million contract with Fox that is in its first year.

When Michael Strahan and Menefee informed Brady that he had to work Thanksgiving, he had a hilarious response on Fox NFL Sunday past weekend.
However, Brady and Burkhardt are off on Sunday because none of the five games on the network include the top Fox duo.
