Olga Kurlaeva, a well-known military correspondent for the official media, was invited by the Belgorod territorial guard to demonstrate how they protect their border area.

We shot down [a Ukrainian] Furia, according to the Russian captain who shot it down. There was an aircraft-type drone in the air for reconnaissance.

Kurlaeva even interrupted the video to compliment the Russian Dad’s Army’s abilities.

“The Belgorod men are so tough that they use their rifles to shoot down Ukrainain aircraft-type drones,” she claimed.

“Real people live in the border area.”

However, the fact that it wasn’t a Ukrainian drone was the only issue.

When it was discovered that the drone was actually a valuable piece of Russian surveillance equipment, outrage quickly ensued.
