Major Aaron Rodgers update after calls for NFL icon to retire and New York Jets to bench him during horror season
The NFL legend, Aaron Rodgers, is still clinging to his starting quarterback position after suffering yet another crushing loss on Sunday.
The 41-year-old Rodgers watched his New York Jets lose to the Seattle Seahawks 26–21 at home.
It was New York’s ninth loss in 12 games after Sunday’s loss at MetLife Stadium.
In addition to throwing for 185 yards and two touchdowns, Rodgers also had an interception that resulted in a pick-six.
And because of how bad things are, the Jets are thinking about switching quarterbacks.

Following the game, reporters questioned interim coach Jeff Ulbrich about his intentions to switch quarterbacks.
“Not as of today,” he said in response.
Rodgers and the New York Jets are in the second year of a three-year contract.
He has a “uphill battle” to remain with the team, according to sources.
The quarterback, who turned 41 this week, has struggled with several injuries.
In addition, he has had one of the worst seasons of his career thus far.

As they look for a new head coach and general manager, the Jets are preparing significant changes to the team.
Following a 2-3 start to the season, head coach Robert Saleh was let go in October.
Last month, general manager Joe Douglas also received his marching orders.
If Rodgers plays the next season, he will also owe $38 million.
However, the team and athlete may decide to part ways because none of that money is guaranteed.
On The Pat McAfee Show last week, Rodgers responded to rumors that he was retiring.
Regarding my future, Rodgers stated: “I have never in my life stated that I do not want to play for the Jets in 2025, so it is completely untrue.
“I actually said the exact opposite: I’m going to wait and see what happens with Brick, the offensive staff, and the general manager at the end of the season to see whether they want me back.
“I’ve had a great experience in New York, but there are a lot of factors that are beyond my control.
Naturally, we haven’t achieved the success that we all hoped for, but I’ve enjoyed living in Jersey, making some wonderful friends on the squad, spending time in the city, and getting to know the supporters.

“I’m not leaping off the ship like, ‘Oh, I certainly want to play and not in New York,’ because I came here to win.
“I don’t even know if I want to play yet but New York will be my first option.”
