After graduating from Temple University with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, Dulai relocated to Las Vegas in 2017 with the intention of obtaining a doctoral degree.

The 29-year-old found her enthusiasm for fitness while in Las Vegas and quickly joined the A.C.E Fitness Gym, where she eventually worked as a personal trainer.

Dulai quickly took to social media to share motivational videos and chronicle her fitness progress with other users.

“Whether it’s in a workout or in life, you’ve just got to keep pushing,” she stated in a 2019 video.

Additionally, Dulai recorded herself talking candidly about her personal anxieties at the time.

“I’m trying to break out of my own shell,” she clarified. Speaking in front of an audience terrifies me. However, here I am, speaking in public.

Dulai started corresponding with Akshaya Kubia at this point.

Shortly after their first encounter, in July 2020, police responded to a complaint at the residence of Akshaya Kubiak.

After the two had taken narcotics together, Kubiak reportedly called 911 in despair, saying Herleen was not responding.

Dulai was unfortunately declared dead at the scene as the authorities arrived.

According to the Clark County coroner’s office, Dulai died from blunt force trauma and strangling, and her death was declared a homicide notwithstanding Kubiak’s assertions.

After being taken into custody in July 2020, Kubiak was charged with Herleen Dulai’s murder and given a sentence.

He was sentenced to eight to twenty years in prison in 2021 after entering a guilty plea to felony counts of willful manslaughter and mayhem, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Prosecutor Giancarlo Pesci described Dulai’s injuries in detail at the sentencing.

This includes wounds to her forearms, face, and eye.

”This is a person who knows the beatings happened, even if she’s high on drugs,” Pesci informed the judge.

Kubiak is thought to be a prisoner at the Southern Desert Correctional Center in Las Vegas as of 2024.
