WhatsApp alert warns app will stop working on THREE popular iPhones very soon – check yours now

Users of WhatsApp have been informed that early in the upcoming year, the well-known messaging program would no longer function on certain iPhone models.

Important upgrades are frequently performed by apps, and over time, this usually implies that older phones can no longer use them.

Users of WhatsApp have reported getting a notification on their iPhone screen alerting them to the impending need to update their device in order to continue using the app.

Currently, iOS 12 and later are supported by the Meta-owned app.

However, in order to continue using it beyond May 5, 2025, you will need iOS 15.1 or later.

“Update to the latest version of iOS to continue using WhatsApp” is the warning in a notification that WABetaInfo disclosed.

“After May 5, 2025, WhatsApp will no longer support this version of iOS.

“Please go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update to get the latest iOS version.”

The following three iPhone models that are currently in use will be impacted by the change:

  • iPhone 6
  • iPhone 6 Plus
