Samantha was tragically murdered at the site, but Aric, who had multiple badly broken bones, was taken to the hospital and treated successfully.

Tension arose with his new mother-in-law, Lisa Miller, after Aric took over his wife’s fortune after her death.

After Lisa declared her desire to represent the estate, a contentious legal dispute quickly broke out.

Lisa told the Post and Courier: “Since we are the two most significant individuals in her life, Aric and I have repeatedly agreed that Sam would want us to do everything together.

“I never intended to question the marriage’s legality. I didn’t want to make Sam look bad. However, by defying my daughter’s wishes, I believe Aric is dishonoring her.

In response, Aric’s attorney said: Lisa Miller has been very kind to him by giving her half of the money, and she has returned the favor by threatening to file a baseless challenge to the legality of his marriage to Sam.

Komoroski s sentencing

Komoroski was given a 25-year prison term in December 2024 for killing Samantha while driving while intoxicated.

When she showed up in court, Komoroski stated: I decided to drink and drive on the evening of April 22, 2023, which led to Samantha Miller’s death.

I have never made a worse choice in my life than this one.

Living with loss

Aric told the court that every day he thinks about the night he lost his wife.

He also told about the day he knew his wife was dead and shared his final recollections with her.

Aric remarked: “I kissed her forehead after she told me she didn’t want the night to end, and the next thing I remember is waking up in the hospital.”

“I knew right away when I saw my mother’s face, still in the wedding gown from the previous evening.

Since I knew Sam wasn’t there, I asked for her.

“I have seen more doctors, therapists, and psychiatrists than I can count, and I still feel the same as I did when I found out that day,” the bereaved husband continued.

I wish I had passed away that evening. I wish I had anticipated it. To avoid you running me over, I would have leaped from the golf cart.
