Olive Garden responds after diner reveals ‘letters’ smeared on iconic breadsticks – but fans know the truth
When a confused consumer noticed a difference with Olive Garden’s recognizable breadsticks, they let out a cry.
They saw what looked to be black identifying numbers and letters on the food while they were eating at the restaurant earlier this month.
In an apostto TikTok, the consumer (@fartbubble69420) questioned, “Guys, why are there letters on my olive garden breadstick?”
A photo of them holding up the partially consumed breadstick with the words “O K6” written in black ink was included.
With more than 365,000 likes and 3,142 comments, the post swiftly became well-known among diners around the country.
In response, Olive Garden’s official TikToka account expressed concern rather than providing an explanation for the letters and numbers on the breadstick.

“Can you please send an email to [email protected] with your full name and the location you went to?”
PACKAGING PROBLEM?
Given that Olive Garden breadsticks are delivered to restaurants in frozen bags before being cooked, some people theorized that the label may have become trapped and left an imprint on the breadstick.
Another shopper said, “They’re from the frozen bags so the label must’ve like gotten on that one,”
A former employee of the chain echoed this theory.
“It’s from the plastic bag they come in and when they sit in the freezer for a while that can happen – Olive Garden worker,” they said.
“I was a waitress and bartender at Darden Inc.’s Olive Garden. A third said, “I used to bake the breadsticks, too.
“LOOKS LIKE THE CODING ON THE PLASTIC BAGS THEY COME IN with their package date…”
Olive Garden has been approached by the U.S. Sun to obtain additional details.
Additionally, Olive Garden has changed how its patrons receive their meals and beverages.
Olive Garden’s Never-Ending Pasta Bowl Deal
The Never-Ending Pasta Bowl, a seasonal special that usually resurfaces every fall, is officially returning to the chain restaurant.
Olive Garden declared that the offer would begin at just $13.99, which is the same price it had set in 2022.
All patrons will be able to purchase this year’s Never-Ending Pasta Bowl beginning on August 26.
However, as the company has been advertising on their TikTok page, Olive Garden’s eClub members and social media followers will have first dibs on the in-restaurant promotion beginning on August 19.
In addition to creating their own pasta dishes by selecting from a variety of noodle and sauce options, those who take advantage of the promotion will be able to enjoy limitless breadsticks and either soup or salad.
Eighty distinct flavor combinations will be available to customers.
DELIVERY DEAL
Darden Restaurants, the parent business, established a “multi-year delivery partnership” with Uber Eats in September.
Through a trial program, the initial testing would be carried out at a few Olive Garden locations before being expanded to all 900 of its locations countrywide in 2025.
Additionally, customers can receive their deliveries without using Uber Eatsapp.
Instead, they place a direct order via the Olive Garden website, which Uber Direct then fulfills.
Uber Direct is a platform that makes its drivers, network, and technology available to companies like Olive Garden.
Some were concerned that the Uber agreement would only result in further price rises for their favorite menu items, despite the fact that it would ostensibly provide them with greater convenience.
Someone angrily posted on Facebook, “Partnering doesn’t always mean a better deal or experience for customers,” in response to the update.
Also, “means prices are going up,” someone else said.

In order to bring menu prices into line with inflation rates, Olive Garden did announce price increases in the spring.
In an effort to combat the drop in sales, the chain also revived its well-known Never-Ending Pasta Bowl earlier this year.
