Watch dramatic moment giant 3,500mph METEOR explodes in blazing white hot fireball over Siberia turning night into day

This is the stunning moment that a massive meteor, traveling at an unbelievable 3,500 mph, burst in a flaming white fireball.

As the space rock burned up in the atmosphere, footage showed it turning the night sky in Russia into a day.

With a diameter of about 28 inches, it put on a stunning display as it headed straight for Earth.

In a post on X (previously Twitter), astronomer Franck Marchis concluded that the asteroid would strike at a speed of 15.6 km/s, or 3,500 mph.

The crash would probably produce a stunning blaze in the sky above northern Siberia, according to the European Space Agency’s preemptive prediction.

Before it entered the Earth’s atmosphere, it was only the eleventh asteroid to be observed.

As video showed the asteroid C0WEPC5’s blazing descent, Siberia was ready for the “attack” and it did not let them down.

The Putin administration had previously said that it was likely to fall over the Sakha Republic, widely known as Yakutia, in Russia.

It is renowned for having the world’s coldest inhabited area.

The Russian Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Applied Astronomy was right when it said that the asteroid would not be dangerous to people.

The Institute added that it would burn up in the atmosphere rather than reach the Earth’s surface.

Olekminsk, a town in Yakutia with about 4,500 residents, was the closest populated region to the meteor, according to reports. It is only about 630 miles from Tunguska.

One of the most potent natural disasters in history occurred in Tunguska in 1908; it was a thousand times more destructive than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

Three to six miles above the surface of the Earth, a meteor or comet exploded in the air, causing this.

The object was considerably larger, with a diameter of 164–197 feet.

It occurs after a tiny asteroid that was headed for Earth burned up in the atmosphere, providing a stunning display for onlookers in the Philippines.

The European Space Agency claims that the 3-foot space rock is the eighth asteroid ever seen from Earth before impact.

Although they are infrequently found, asteroids with a diameter of a few feet strike pretty frequently.

In an instant, the asteroid turned a dark sky into what appeared to be daylight as it fell toward Luzon Island in the Philippines.

The flare was captured by observers as it streaked through the atmosphere, which in certain videos appears green.

It was surprisingly visible despite Typhoon Yagi’s cloud cover.

It was anticipated that the space rock, known as asteroid 2024 RW1, will hit the atmosphere at a speed of about 11 miles per second, or less than 40,000 miles per hour.

According to NASA’s Planetary Defense Coordination Offices, several sensors picked up the “harmless” hit.
