Steve Kerr makes Michael Jordan claim over winning more NBA titles and dominance in LeBron James’ social media era

Following a heated argument between First Take stars, Steve Kerr’s assertion regarding Michael Jordan has reappeared online.

This week, Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe got into a heated fight regarding LeBron James on the ESPN program.

James has been playing consistently for 20 years, according to Sharpe.

Jordan, his fiercest rival, had two career pauses during which he won six NBA titles.

Smith took issue with Sharpe’s assertions and pointed out that the game was considerably more physical when Jordan was playing.

Then, Sharpe questioned First Takehost Molly Qerim on what would occur if James were to take a few years off.

“The media would be all over him,” Qerim said in response.

Sharpe was informed by Smith that he “should be ashamed” of his viewpoint.

However, a 2016 statement made by Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, appeared to support his old player Jordan.

From 1996 to 1998, Kerr won three NBA championships with Jordan’s Chicago Bulls.

Then, in 1999 and 2003, he won two more with the San Antonio Spurs.

According to the Netflix documentary The Last Dance, Jordan was known for taking things personally.

“There would have been so many more slights,” Kerr stated.

“He might have won more titles.”

In addition, Kerr has won four NBA titles as a coach.

Three times in four years, his Warriors defeated James’ Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.

After years of dealing with James, Kerr was given the chance to coach him this summer.

The USA national team won a gold medal in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris under the leadership of the Warriors coach.

“You’re coaching guys you’ve been coaching against,” Kerr remarked.

“I had a great time meeting these people.
