Harley-Davidson opening new shop in US city but it won’t be selling fan-favorite item – as drivers blast ‘odd choice’

Even though a brand-new Harley-Davidson store is opening in a New York city, customers won’t leave with a new vehicle.

Entrepreneur Paul Gutman created a second business that some have called “odd.” He already operates a dealership in his hometown of Rochester.

In order to open a Harley-Davidson retail location, Gutman has secured a great downtown retail space.

There won’t be any motorcycles for sale at this strange store; instead, it will exclusively sell Harley accessories like hats, shirts, and stickers.

The motorbike enthusiast intends to decorate the center with a shiny vehicle, but anyone who would like to ride one can travel to his dealership.

His goal in opening the store is to bring foot traffic from downtown to his other entrance.

He told the Post-Bulletin, “I wanted to put the dealership on the map,”

“Being downtown with Harley-Davidson screaming on First Avenue gives us that opportunity to say Harley is in town.”

Gutman intends to launch the store as soon as possible; by the end of December, he hopes to have it operational.

He has also come up with a clever marketing strategy to sell his bikes.

Gutman will pay Uber to deliver everyone who wants to visit his dealership right to the door.

The enthusiastic salesman responded, “We’ll call an Uber for you if you want to go look at bikes.”

Effingham, Illinois, where Gutman bought his first Harley dealership, is 11 hours away from his hometown of Rochester.

But he had always wanted to own and run the store in his hometown.

The previous owners contacted Gutman when it was time to sell and expressed their satisfaction at leaving it in his capable hands.
