Dollar Tree CEO reveals the most popular items for $1.25 that shoppers ‘need’ this Christmas season

The CEO of DOLLAR Tree has verified which popular product categories are selling out quickly this holiday season.

At the cheap store closest to them, customers may get the majority of items for as little as $1.25 each.

During a recent earnings call, Dollar Tree’s interim CEO, Mike Creighton, described the 2024 Christmas assortment as “fantastic”.

According to Creighton, children’s toys and trimming equipment were the top items attracting shoppers’ attention and money.

“But the set is fantastic, especially when you look at the holiday set, what we’re seeing in toys, and what we’re seeing in trimming hard trim a gift, trim a tree,” he stated to investors.

“We really like the cadence we’re seeing of the customer as she navigates through this holiday.”

As Dollar Tree’s holiday inventory continues to fly off the shelves, that shopping “cadence” appears to be holding steady.

Some holiday mugs that resemble Christmas tree decorations, for instance, cost 80% less than a comparable product from Walmart.

Recently, Dollar Tree expanded its inventory to include things that cost more than $1, despite the store’s name.

Items in the Dollar Tree Plus section can cost up to $5, but the majority of the store’s inventory costs no more than $1.25.

In 2019, Dollar Tree expanded its product line by adding Plus aisles to 100 locations.

The products were available at more than 1,500 Dollar Tree shops by 2022.

President and CEO Michael Witynski stated in a statement, “We think testing additional price points above $1 for Dollar Tree products will enable us over time to expand our assortments, introduce new products, and meet more of our customers’ everyday needs.”

“We guarantee that consumers will receive excellent value for their money when they shop at Dollar Tree. Regardless of the cost, we shall remain steadfast in our defense of that pledge.”

MUG MADNESS

Some Christmas mugs that Dollar Tree customers have complimented as “beautiful” are also 93% less expensive than their Amazon counterparts.

There are four different versions of the mugs, each with a Christmas tree farm, candy canes, hot cocoa, and decorations.

Customers at Dollar Tree would just have to pay $5 to get all four.

Comparatively, the one and almost identical mug on Amazon cost $17.95.

Customers should also be informed that Dollar Tree will be closing its locations in celebration of Christmas, which is quickly approaching in just 20 days.
