Travelers warned they ‘won’t be let off the plane’ if they make simple passport mistake – don’t ignore 4-page rule

Travelers have been alerted to a frequent passport error that might trap them on the aircraft and prevent them from boarding.

Passengers have been warned by a flight attendant about a problem she claims she encounters on a daily basis.

Yana Biryukova encouraged people to examine the passport requirements before traveling to a new nation in her widely shared TikTok.

She wrote in the video’s title, “Did you know this common daily mistake people make to be denied boarding their dream vacation?”

“Some countries have specific passport requirements [and] will NOT let you in.”

She urged travelers to verify their passports’ expiration dates in the video.

When you land, you should make sure your passport is valid for at least another six months, she said.

“If it expires in five months and 29 days, they will not let you on the plane,” she stated.

The so-called “four-page rule,” she continued, must be kept in mind.

“You see all these pages at the back?” she responded.

“In order to return home, make sure you have at least four blank pages. Avoid making this error.

Regardless of your situation, Biryukova advised travelers that if your passport does not match these conditions, some nations will not allow you entry.

Another added, “It happened to my mom – she was denied entry because her passport was expiring in less than six months.”

A third, however, who was a gate agent at an airport, said that it was “one of the things I look for as a counter/gate agent when checking people in for a flight.”

Before boarding the aircraft, visitors are advised by the US Department of State to review the information about the nation they are visiting.

This contains all the relevant information you require prior to traveling to your intended location.

The purpose of the four-page guideline is to ensure that your passport has adequate room for all of the stamps you might receive while traveling.

It follows the announcement that Americans can now obtain new passports two weeks more quickly than previously.

Wait times for online and paper applications are now as short as four to six weeks, according to a State Department announcement in October.
