William will be tight-lipped with Donald Trump – President-elect loves royals but they disagree on so much, expert says
The Prince According to one analyst, William will keep quiet around Donald Trump, but the president-elect adores royals.
Trump and William will meet at Notre Dame in Paris’s reopening today.
After a fire in 2019 damaged much of the site’s antiquities and tore through the roof, the Paris cathedral has been repaired.
Kensington Palace has said that William is scheduled to speak with Trump about the significance of the US-UK’s “special relationship.”
Along with Trump, the 42-year-old will meet with departing First Lady Jill Biden.
“I think the royal family’s apolitical, soft diplomacy is incredible,” royal analyst Hugo Vickers told The Sun.

Opening the way diplomatically was something the late Queen was particularly skilled at.
“William is aware of that, so he will be present to greet them and, in a sense, clear the way.
“Then the politicians can come in later, and they can do whatever they have to do.”
He continued: “That’s the the wonderful role that the royal family performs so well.”
According to Hugo, Trump, the Republican nominee for president, has a deep respect for the royal family.
“We are aware that President Trump was extremely eager to visit and meet the late Queen,” he stated.
“Yes, he made two visits: first to Windsor, and then on a state visit.
“She was undoubtedly a phenomenal global icon. When you think, it’s incredible.
“As President of the United States, Trump is a strong man. Nevertheless, he was eager to meet her.
He came out and declared that he was her favorite president, according to multiple people.
“I’ve always believed that the Queen was actually quite astute.
“Because I bet you she made all the Presidents feel that they were her favourites, and she had that particular skill.”
However, Prince William will need to keep quiet when he speaks with Trump, according to Hugo.
According to the expert, William will handle contentious foreign leaders in the same way as the late Queen.
“Prince William is coming over this time to represent Britain at the reopening of Notre Dame,” he stated.
Since Prince William is aware that Trump is the elected official, I have no doubt that he will manage it expertly.
“They will undoubtedly need to cooperate with him since he will be the US president and head of the Western world starting in January.
“I don’t know whose political figure it was that once recommended the late Queen not to meet with them.
However, she added, “I encounter mass killers on a daily basis, so I didn’t understand why you told me not to.
“She met Makarios and took President Amin to lunch. Mobutu was with her. On a state visit, Ceausescu arrived.
“You are aware that they come for those reasons or are dispatched by the government.
“The Prince of Wales, or the monarch in this instance, must manage it as effectively as possible, and they excel at it. They comply with orders.
“And I guess that the fact that they aren’t there to talk politics makes things easier in some ways.
“Because, if I may use this phrase, Trump will serve as both the head of state and the head of politics.”
“I suppose that makes things simpler for Prince William in that regard. He will have to repress whatever personal opinions he may have, much like the late Queen did.
“Once more, I can tell you that the Queen occasionally asked her private secretary for advice when faced with a dilemma.
“No? What ought I to do? However, what is the right course of action for the Queen in these situations?
“Then she listened to the advice, and then she took it.”
William is traveling to Paris for the first time since 2017 and will see Trump for the first time since his 2019 state visit to the UK.
According to a source who spoke to AFP, the president-elect landed at Orly airport in the south of Paris on a private plane shortly before 7am, marking his first international journey since winning the election.
William’s remarks regarding the US-UK alliance coincide with Trump’s declaration of a more isolationist foreign policy and his promise to impose trade tariffs.
Prior to the event, Trump is scheduled to meet with Macron and maybe with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
The reopening of Notre Dame will feature the ceremonial opening of the cathedral’s enormous doors, the reawakening of its organ, and the celebration of the first Mass, all of which will be witnessed by dozens of guests.
Last week, when cameras were first permitted inside the church following the reconstruction process, Macron took a tour of the fully restored structure.
Over 60 months and an astounding 600 million dollars were spent on the thorough repair.
