British cyclist rushed to hospital and another treated on track after pair crash into CROWD in horrifying scenes

In a horrifying collision, Olympic champion Katy Marchant injured her arm; other riders and onlookers also required medical attention.

The entire UCI Track Champions League event was canceled after Team GB’s 2024 golden girl was thrown over the barrier and into the crowd at London’s Lee Valley Velodrome.

TV cameras that are broadcasting live coverage of the race on Eurosport cut away from the alarming scenes.

Four fans, Marchant, and German opponent Alessa-Catriona Propster were hurriedly treated by medics.

Marchant was admitted to the hospital with what is believed to be a fractured forearm.

During the opening round of the keirin, a collision between a Leeds star and Propster caused the accident.

They both flew into onlookers at the top of the bank.

For thirty minutes, Marchant stayed on the ground, her farmer husband Roba by her side the entire time.

After that, she was taken from the velodrome and taken to the hospital.

Later, it was reported that Marchant was in a “stable condition”.

Propster, 23, recovered better from the event; after receiving treatment for ten minutes, she was able to leave.

It is also believed that the four injured onlookers merely required on-scene care and managed to flee with very minor wounds.

Cycling leaders stated that they are looking into the situation before determining what “appropriate action” to take.

After the crash, Eurosport withdrew from the velodrome. However, they came back later to get an update from Adam Blythe, a trackside reporter.

The good news is that the GB rider [Marchant] is doing well, the former Sheffield professional rider informed the audience. Despite having a broken forearm, she seemed to be doing well.
