‘It’s not acceptable’: Sprint sensation Gout Gout’s parents reveal his real name and fume at identity mix-up
The sprint star has been given the wrong name, according to GOUT GOUT’S irate father.
The 16-year-old “next Usain Bolt”‘s parents revealed his true name and criticized officials for the “unacceptable” mistake.
Gout Gout has broken a number of 100- and 200-meter age records.
His longer-distance time of 20.04 seconds also shattered the Australian record that had been in place since Peter Norman’s 1968 Olympic silver medal.
However, his father Bona has now expressed his displeasure over a spelling error that has given his son a different name.
After the family escaped South Sudan as refugees to Egypt, the problem surfaced.

Bona informed Channel 7 that they intended to relocate to Canada.
However, the first documents to arrive were from the Australian Government, so they decided to change their future to Australia.
But the Sudanese government is being blamed by Bona for incorrectly writing “Gout Gout” on the paperwork.
“His name is Guot, and it should be Guot,” Bona stated.
“I’m not very happy for him when I see people calling him Gout Gout.”

“Gwot” should be the pronunciation, he added.

“I am aware that gout is a disease name, but I do not want my son to be referred to as such,” he stated. Something like that is unacceptable.
“It s culturally very important and in particular if (family) see Guot Guot running they connect to the name but when they hear Gout Gout they ve lost the meaning of it.”
Bona now expects that his son’s name will soon be formally changed back to Guot.
