Man buys $9,000 Home Depot shed in person but it never arrives – weeks went by before he had an answer

After spending thousands of dollars on a shed, a man had to wait over two months to find out if he would ever receive it.

The homeowner in Atlanta paid more than $9,000 for a tool shed at Home Depot in September, but it never showed up.

Warren Kale claimed that the shed he discovered at the Cartersville, Georgia, location of the home improvement retailer was just what he wanted.

To make the purchase, I went there on September 9,” Kale told WXIA-TV, an NBC station.

“Total bill was $9,058.03 so I used my debit card.”

The store hadn’t provided any updates on the shed for days following the huge purchase.

In order to get answers regarding the shed and his money, Kale went back to Home Depot.

They claimed there was a computer error and that my money had disappeared, but they were unsure of where it had gone, he added.

A request for comment from The U.S. Sun was not answered by Home Depot.

Kale went to his bank to get a refund because he didn’t have a shed.

Ameris Bank did not, however, immediately return his money.

Kale turned to the investigative reporters at WXIA-TV after 52 days had passed with no resolution.

Things began to happen when I spoke with [the help line], Kale stated.

The bank returned the full $9,058.03 to Kale’s account after the outlet got in touch with the corporate office.

A request for response from The U.S. Sun was not answered by Ameris Bank.

After receiving his reimbursement, Kale returned to Home Depot and purchased the shed.

The shed is now completely put together in his garden.

Customers have already had problems with Home Depot’s policies.

Due to a recent change in the home improvement retailer’s return policy, customers vowed to boycott them just last month.

“The associate told me that my return was denied because their new return policy limits the amount of returns you can make without a receipt in your lifetime,” the consumer stated.

According to Home Depot’s return policy, items bought with a credit card, debit card, or cheque can be returned within ninety days of purchase.

The company does, however, demand customers to present a government-issued photo ID in the absence of a receipt.

“Returns without a receipt may be refunded as store credit at the lowest advertised price,” the policy stated.

“The return is also subject to approval by the third-party refund verification system.”

The U.S. Sun asked Home Depot for more information, but the company has not answered, and it is unclear how much may be returned.
