FOX 2.According to a recent NFL report, there is hope that Lions standout Aidan Hutchison may recover from his fractured leg before the Super Bowl.

If the Lions (12-1) are still playing at that point, Hutchinson might take the field as early as the NFC Championship game, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports. During the victory over the Cowboys in Week 6, Hutchison sustained fractures to his tibia and fibula.

Glazer stated on “The Inside Scoop” that the Lions are hopeful that Hutchinson’s unwavering work ethic would help him make an early comeback.

“He’s actually doing some underwater running on an underwater treadmill,” added Glazer. “He can walk on land; as they say, he should need a cane, but at the moment, he isn’t really utilizing one.

“He works so hard that, depending on how his bone feels, he might return (by) the NFC Championship game rather than the Super Bowl. According to coach Dan Campbell, it also depends on how much practice he receives.

Hutchinson’s break was clean and no ligaments or nerves were damaged, the team said, which projected his recovery at four to six months.

“It hurts to lose somebody like him, not only the player but the person,” Campbell said on at the time. “I would never assume that Hutch will return before four to six months. Long road, but I’ll never count him out and I would say if anybody can make it back it would be him.”

While sacking Dak Prescott, Hutchinson immediately reached down for his lower left leg. Hutchinson was heard mouthing the phrase “it’s broken” during the show.

At the time, Hutchinson was the NFL’s sack leader and finished his season with 7.5 sacks in five games.
