Man charged after multi-city chase ends with him spitting blood at officer

FOX 2: WYANDOTTE, Mich.A man was charged with a felony last week, according to the police.

Christopher Johnson, 38, was accused of operating while intoxicated, assaulting police, and evading capture.

The victim reported a truck driver attempting to run her off the road in the vicinity of 23rd Street and Maple on Wednesday, according to the police. This resulted in a pursuit that ended in Huron Township after passing through Southgate, Woodhaven, Trenton, and Riverview.

When Johnson eventually stopped, he locked himself in his truck and placed it in reverse, colliding with a parked car, according to Wyandotte Police Chief Archie Hamilton.

“The officers had to remove him from the car and smash the glass. He violently fought arrest and spat blood in an officer’s face,” Hamilton claimed.

Johnson was eventually apprehended by a number of officers.
