Major Justin Herbert injury update as Los Angeles Chargers star QB at risk of missing time during playoff race

After sustaining an ankle injury on Sunday, Justin Herbert did not practice on Wednesday.

In his Week 14 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Herbert sustained two injuries.

During the game, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers had a thigh contusion and injured his left ankle.

Herbert stated on Wednesday that he sat out of practice because he “didn’t think I was able” to perform full-speed reps.

Herbert has already sustained two ankle injuries this season, and he stated that the second one “could be a lot worse.”

Herbert stated, “I would say that this one is probably not as severe,” according to ESPN.com’s Kris Rhim.

“It s definitely painful enough to be able to miss a practice, but I feel like I ve been able to move around a little bit better this week than I did after Carolina, where I was put into a boot and had difficulty walking.”

Even if it doesn’t feel too bad, Herbert admitted that it was challenging to maneuver around in the pocket while he was injured.

His words, “It was difficult to play with,”

We had to minimize some of the runs out of the pocket because it was one of those situations.

“I didn’t feel great, but it was one of those things to play through.”

Herbert acknowledges that the thigh contusion is essentially a non-factor and that the ankle sprain is the primary problem.

“I believe that the contusion is something that can be readily recovered from. Herbert remarked, “I’m doing everything I can with the ankle.”

“I would have practiced at my best if I thought I could have ensured that everyone could complete full-speed reps.

“I didn’t think I was able to do that today, so the trainers and I were on the same page.”

With two losses in their previous three games, the Chargers are currently in a bit of a slump and will need Herbert to play at his peak if they want to make the playoffs.
