Malcolm in the Middle cast today as Frankie Muniz and Bryan Cranston are set to reprise roles for reboot 

Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and other cast members have committed to the limited resurrection of Malcolm in the Middle.

Discover where the cast of Malcolm in the Middle is now, from Frankie, 39, quitting acting to pursue a career as a race car driver, to Bryan, 68, who has starred in parts that have defined his career.

FRANKIE MUNIZ

He starred in Agent Cody Banks, Big Fat Liar, and other films while portraying Malcolm from 2000 to 2006.

However, Frankie retired from acting after deciding that the life of a superstar wasn’t for him.

After participating in races over the years, he declared his intention to pursue a career as a full-time professional race car driver in 2023.

“I’m joining Rette Jones Racing for the entire ARCA Menards Series schedule this year with the utmost excitement, optimism, and gratitude,” he remarked at the time.

My goal has been to race in NASCAR since I was a little child, so it was crucial that I work with a team that shared my long-term goals and vision while offering me every chance to develop both mentally and physically as a full-time race car driver.

Along with his wife Paige Price, Frankie raises his kid Mauz Mosley Muniz.

Bryan Cranston

Bryan went on to have a pivotal role on Breaking Bad from 2008 to 2013 after Malcolm in the Middle.

He has starred in How I Met Your Mother and other films.

In 2023, Bryan, who portrayed father Hal, took a hiatus from acting.

I am not retiring, he posted on Instagram at the time. When I become 70 years old in 2026, I plan to put things on hold for a full year. Whoa, 70!

I don’t even know what exactly pausing implies, but right now I believe it means that taking a year off will benefit you in a number of ways.

First of all, it will enable me to spend more time with Robin, my lovely wife of 34 years, than I have been able to in the past 25 years—not as a celebrity’s wife, but as a loving married couple starting—well, let’s face it—our later years with fresh aspirations, objectives, and experiences.

Second, it allows me to start again professionally. I’ve had an incredible journey for more than 20 years, portraying characters on stage, in movies, and on television that I could only imagine until they came true. Having said that, I feel like I’m starting to run out of new ways to portray the characters that are being shown to me.

Therefore, pursuing a wider range of life experiences will allow me to refuel and more authentically get ready for any roles that may come my way.

Jane Kaczmarek

For the reboot, Jane Kaczmarek, who portrayed mother Lois, is also coming back.

Jane, 68, kept herself occupied after Malcolm in the Middle by making appearances in a number of films, including Wolves at the Door, 6 Balloons, and This is Us.

After a two-year hiatus from social media, the mother of four has returned to Instagram with the news that she will be included in the revival.

CHRISTOPHER MASTERSON

Following the role, Christopher Masterson, who portrayed Francis, Malcom’s eldest brother, also gained success in Hollywood.

He appeared in a number of television programs and motion pictures.

He is currently a full-time DJ and producer, with his most recent IMDB credit being from 2019.

His Instagram suggests that he travels frequently.

Chris, 44, is the younger brother of Danny Masterson, of That 70s Show, who was convicted of raping two women more than 20 years ago and given a sentence of 30 years to life in jail in 2023.

In the family sitcom, Erik Per Sullivan portrayed the youngest sibling, Dewey.

Up until 2010, Erik, then 33, worked in Hollywood.

He still shares series relics on his social media accounts today.

Earlier this year, Jane, his on-screen mother, provided an update on him.

“He’s doing very, very well,” she remarked. He began working on Malcolm at the age of seven and finished at the age of fourteen. He had absolutely no interest in acting.

He likes Charles Dickens and attends a highly famous American university, about which he has requested us all to keep silent.

He is a graduate student studying Victorian literature. I respect it because a lot of people believe that being in show business is the best thing ever, but it’s not for everyone.

THEY’RE BACK!

In 2025, Disney+ will premiere a remake of the series with four additional episodes.

Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, told Variety that Malcolm in the Middle is a historic sitcom that embodies family life with heart, humor, and dependability.

“Audiences of all ages found resonance in its heartwarming and humorous depiction of a charmingly dysfunctional family, and we are thrilled to have the original cast return to recreate that magic.

“These new episodes, directed by Linwood Boomer and the creative team, will feature all the jokes, mayhem, and laughter that fans have come to love, along with a few surprises that serve as a reminder of why this program is so classic.

A video announcing the revival was posted by Frankie, Bryan, Jane, and Justin.

“I have been waiting for this moment for eighteen years,” Frankie stated. Let’s investigate the whereabouts of Malcolm and his family.

“I am so excited that I may have peed just a little,” Bryan continued. Please pardon me.

“What a delight that I get to yell at that kid again!” Jane quipped.

“We can’t wait to get back together and see what this family has been up to.
