Michigan woman charged with drunk driving in crash that killed 72-year-old man
(FOX 2) Lenawee County, MichiganDue to an accident that occurred months ago, a woman is being charged with drunk driving.
Around 9:30 p.m. on August 14, Holly Schmidt struck a northbound GMC Terrain while driving a Jeep Wrangler south on Tecumseh Clinton Highway, according to Michigan State Police.
The GMC’s driver, a 72-year-old Clinton male, was killed in the collision, and his passenger, a 75-year-old woman, was hurt.
Schmidt, 38, was taken into custody on Tuesday following a protracted inquiry and charged with one count of operating while intoxicated causing serious harm and one count of operating causing death. A $75,000 bond was imposed for her.
