“I know you’re watching on TV, but he’s not here and couldn’t make it.

“I adore you, Dad. After everything you’ve been through, man, take a look at your oldest son. Man, I did it for you.

“All the times you came to see my games, or the times you didn’t get to see me,” Hunter went on.

“I went from possibly missing two high school games to seeing me on TV every weekend and seeing me.

“I find that to be really meaningful.

“Believe me, I have you covered. I know you wanted to be here but you can’t. I’m going home with the prize. I cherish you.

Hunter chose to watch the event from his home in Boynton Beach, Florida, according to The Palm Beach Post.

In connection with his arrest in September of last year, he was given a 90-day term at the Palm Beach County West Detention Center.

“When he gets married and gets drafted, I want to be there. I’ll be watching this from home.

Hunter won the honor ahead of Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel, Miami (Fla.) quarterback Cam Ward, and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.

During his address, he also made a humorous revelation by praising rapper Lil Wayne.

“Wayne, you don’t know how you came into our life, man,” Hunter responded.

“You are loved by my fiancé, Leanna Lenee. I don’t listen to music, so I didn’t know any of your songs until she told me.
