Increasing drone sightings have officials and experts scratching their heads
Drone sightings have evolved into much more than headlines on social media. We brought it to the specialists from every possible perspective since some very intelligent people are really baffled by it.
DETROIT (FOX 2):On Tuesday, the White House will provide an update on the drones to the House Intelligence Committee. FOX 2 consulted a UFO specialist in the interim to get their opinion on the situation.
Drone sightings have evolved into much more than headlines on social media. We brought it to the specialists from every possible perspective since some very intelligent people are really baffled by it.
According to UFO expert Bill Konkolesky, “we can usually identify about 90% of what comes into us, and it’s that last 10% that keeps things exciting.”
For 30 years, Konkolesky has been researching the issue and monitoring the nationwide drone sightings. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s airspace was closed for four hours over the weekend after air traffic controllers alerted planes near Dayton, Ohio, about drones!
They are referred to as unmanned aerial systems, or UAS, but where are they coming from?
“They’re not from another planet, in my opinion. “I don’t believe they are aliens coming to visit us,” Konkolesky remarked. “They seem to be commercially produced drones.”
According to Bill, the federal government is not taking any action.
“We are on it,” says Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, adding that there is no proof of foreign involvement. That’s all.
“I can’t even begin to imagine everything I know. The U.S. Air Force’s retired Commander Doug Slocum stated, “I believe that’s what we’re missing right now, because the people in charge of our government don’t know what’s going on, so now it becomes a how do you relate to the public.”
As it has been over a month since the initial sighting in New Jersey, Slocum, a veteran fighter pilot, also questioned the federal government’s response.
“People are scared, I mean there’s a lot that are just curious, but there are some people that see this as a serious threat and I think that needs to be addressed,” he stated.
Not just the typical Joe is concerned, either.
“I see it as a threat as it is genuine. Throughout the world, drones were employed effectively, according to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.
Bouchard is calling on Washington to take immediate action on drone operations.
“Oh, don’t worry, there’s nothing to see here, as my grandmother used to say as she whistled past the cemetery. Yes, he responded, “there is.”
According to the sheriff, there are methods available to stop drones that are not following the rules, but local police departments would need federal authority to use that technology.
“The federal government stepped in and resisted my request for this technology years ago, even though I had a purchase order to obtain it. They purposefully hinder our ability to defend our neighborhood in addition to not granting us the authority,” he stated.
Bouchard urges other police leaders to speak up immediately, saying he doesn’t want a congressional inquiry to take place a year after an incident.
