Girl, 14, shot dead after female classmate opened fire at Wisconsin school is identified as family pay tribute

The family of a girl who was shot dead at their school after a female classmate opened fire has been recognized.

On Monday, 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow shot and killed children and faculty at Madison, Wisconsin’s Abundant Life Christian school.

Prior to Rupnow, 15, taking her own life, a teacher and a pupil were slain during the rampage.

According to police, she was declared dead in an ambulance en route to the hospital.

Days before Christmas, mayhem broke out inside a mixed-grade classroom, injuring six more people for their part.

In an obituary published on Wednesday, the youngster who was killed was now identified as Rubi Patricia Vergara, 14, of Madison.

According to her obituary, she was a freshman at the school, a voracious reader, a lover of art, and a keyboard player and singer in the family worship band.

“She shared a special bond with her beloved pets, Ginger (cat) and Coco (dog),” according to the tribute.

Attempts by the Associated Press to contact the girl’s relatives via email and phone on Wednesday night failed.

The instructor who was killed has not been identified.
