Travis Kelce confirms Carson Wentz stance with Kansas City Chiefs facing worrying Patrick Mahomes injury issue
The Kansas City Chiefs are confident in their backup quarterback, but Patrick Mahomes is doubtful for their next game.
Carson Wentz is expected to start against the Houston Texans on Saturday if Mahomes is unable to play.
In Week 15, Mahomes was forced to miss the rest of the game due to a high-ankle sprain he sustained against the Cleveland Browns.
He is now recovering from that injury, so his status for Saturday is uncertain.
However, the Chiefs don’t appear to be overly concerned about their quarterback missing a game since they have faith in Wentz’s skills.
Wentz is “prepared and ready to rock and roll,” according to Travis Kelce.

Wentz is a “pro’s pro,” according to Kelce, and the team is well-served with him at quarterback.
It appears that Kelce believes Mahomes will persevere, even though Wentz is ready to play if necessary.
One of the “toughest guys in the league,” he said, in spite of his “weak ankles.”
Kelce remarked, “He’s going to tape it up and be just fine,” in reference to Mahomes’ performance.
Wentz stated that he would be prepared to go whether Mahomes participates in the game or not.
“I’ve been preparing like I’m going to play every week,” he stated.
In the 2016 NFL Draft, Wentz was selected with the second overall choice. He has a wealth of experience from his MVP-caliber days with the Philadelphia Eagles.
If Mahomes takes a day off, he may help the Chiefs handle a run of three games in 11 days. His brief performance in the game on Sunday showed promise.

“I feel like I could have finished the game in different circumstances,” Mahomes stated.

In her hometown of Houston, Texas, Beyoncé will also perform during the half.
Additionally, Netflix confirmed their broadcast crew for the day, which includes former Good Morning Football host Kay Adams and Fox NFL pundit Greg Olsen.
“He wanted to fight about it, but we’ve got good support there behind him with Carson,” Reid said.
Mahomes did acknowledge that it could have been reckless to reenter the game after hurting his ankle.
“You don t want to go out there and put yourself in harm s way,” he said.
